The fourth of four components to the Advanced Mentoring Enrichment Network:
- C.A.M.P. stands for Career Apprenticeship Mentoring Partnerships
- Connects 12-17 year old students to professionals, trades personnel, and others, to shadow them in their line of work in order to get first-hand exposure to careers of interest.
- Via the partnerships with local and regional companies we strive to make scholarships available to students who “intern” with such companies and then decide to pursue a career in that field.
- High school drop-out rates have reached staggering numbers. So what do we do to help decrease this vicious cycle?
- Whereas students at any given moment, for many reasons, may opt to drop out of high school and…
- Whereas students tend to be limited to a specific environment, such as neighborhoods, local hang-out spots, etc.
- It is then, the objective of the Advanced Mentoring Enrichment Network, through C.A.M.P to expose students to environments, ideas, and people that will help trigger comments like, “Oh, I can do that!” or, “How can I get a job like this?” or, “Wow, I didn’t realize there was so much more to life!” and the list can go on, and on…
- As a result, students that may have contemplated never finishing high school or never pursuing further education, may now, as a result of these partnerships, not only graduate but also move on to additional studies, training, certificate programs, or diplomas.
- In turn, we can positively affect our “Rising Generation,” families, and communities.
